Hi!
Yes, it was a change done in version 6.5.0 in April 2025
You can see the discussion here:
And the description/explanation in the version
In short, during the February 2025 meeting, the assistants agreed to modify the parent/children schema to align with the new ontology schema, and it was introduced in version 6.5.0 a month later. The 6.5.0 update introduce automatically a top term in the cases that the thesaurus had multiple top nodes to be coherent.
Consequently, children no longer store data, and only parent components retain it. As a result of this change, the hierarchy terms are no longer included in diffusion thesaurus tables and new hierarchy table was added into diffusion schema to point the top terms. All this changes was explained into the meeting.
So, if you're looking for the general term of any thesaurus, you can find it in the public API hierarchy table (if you have the Thesaurus -> hierarchy sections published, if not, you can publish the hierarchy records).

Alternatively, if your data is controlled and well formatted, you're certain about the terms relations, you can select the top/main thesaurus term and filter the term without parent data in the ts_ tables. However, this approach may not be accurate if you create terms without parental information (I don't recommend implementing this option). Another option is to programmatically define the top/main program, but this option won't be feasible if you want to change the top terms.
I hope is clear.
