Hi
@Manuel Gozalbes @Mariajobrador @andrea @Maribel @Gerard_La Foneria @Eulàlia Mesalles
We need to define clearly the fields Trademark / Model / Firm / Author / Manufacturer and how it will translated from v5 into v6 model, I don't like the current solution because Trademark is only a list of values and it needs more information, as bibliography, description, etc.
In v6 model we have a global People field that can handle the Author data in appropriated way, it can define the role and the person, so you can say something as:
Pedro Pérez | Designer
Amparo Gómez | Author
In the same way we have Entities field with the same meaning, you can define the Entity and his Role:
Seat S.A. | Manufacturer
O&B S.L. | Printer
etc
But... what is the best way for Trademark Model or Firm?
Manufacturer is an entity but the Trademark is not, and I not sure if we need a new thesaurus or if the Entities section could handle all.
Sometimes we talked about it, and some of you have suggested that it should be included in the Typology field, but I think it is not the same thing.
For ex:
Fanta -> Trademark
Soft drink -> Typology
etc
I think that if you put these data in typology it will be very confusing....
And another question is whether the Trademarkshould go below theManufacturer in an Entities thesaurus.
| Cocacola ---> Entity
| _____ Fanta ---> Trademark
So, some questions arise:
What do you think?
What is the best way to handle this data?
Do you agree with a separate Author, Entity and Trademark / model in different fields?
Is better to use Typology?
Is better put all into Entities?
