Here is a proposal for recording the movement of museum and documentary collections:
- Implement two new fields in the movement record:
1- Origin location/topographical reference
2- Destination location/topographical reference.
This way, the record would allow users to see at a glance, for example, that the piece related to the movement was in 'location X' and has been moved to 'location Y'. This 'Y' would obviously be the location/topographical reference recorded in the Object Catalog under the Location field, but the movement record would reflect the previous location.
The update would allow for traceability and a "history" of the location/topographic data. Which is something that we need here at the museum. I know these changes can be tracked using a time machine, but not all users are familiar with it, and it's easier for the registration form to indicate the origin and destination locations (topographic data).
I would also like to request the multi-language option in the fields of Movements form that are not active.
