Problem with special characters codification

Hi everyone,

We have some fields in Dédalo with Phoenician characters, these are copy/pasted from Wikipedia table: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phoenician_alphabet

Checking the SQL table, it's seem to be correct and the characters are showing correctly.

The problem comes when we try to request these fields from JS with API REST, all these Phoenician characters are converted to question marks (?), It is clear that it is a codification problem, but we do not know how to solve it.

Anyone have an idea?

Hi Jandro,

Certainly, this problem occurs with 4-byte characters in some cases.
It is not a problem of the publication export records, but it is due to the public database (MySQL) reading.

We have fixed the bug in the internal reading PDO so now it supports utf8-mb4.
You can update the code using the tool administration 'Update Dédalo code' button as you normally do.

If you do not have access to the panel, ask your administrator to do it

Hi Jandro ,

Dédalo provides a feature to automatically update code files to the latest compatible version.

In Dédalo Administration Tool (link into toolbar)

you can find this button:

(only if you have access as root or developer).

On click, latest Dédalo code version is downloaded to your server and your code is updated with all new features and fixes from our Dédalo master server.
