I think that the layout of tch1 with tabs works fine. Do you think it's possible to implement a similar solution with tabs for the thesauri > hierarchy20?
For instance, now with the inverse portal showing images from tch1 and tchi1, it's long way scrolling down to check the images. By the way, I was browsing a gallery with 79 related images from tch1 and, when I click 'show all', are not displayed correctly. I can see only a sort of blank table, not very big with thin cells. I've tried to add the screenshot here dragging and dropping but it didn't work 🙁
In relation with this, the tchi section needs also a little change in the layout. The name of the place is presented isolated in the fixed part of the record. But the parents are far away, scrolling down.. In many cases the parents are necessary for understanding the record. I.e: Departamento 23 > Bastida, or Sector III > Cove Negra; if we read only Departamento 23 or Sector III without the parents info is not possible to undestand the record. I suggest two possible solutions:

  • To show the parents below the field name in a fixed mode similar to the 'lg-nolan' solution for names and titles of publications.
  • To show the relations of the record in a new tab

    Hi

Manuel Gozalbes I think that the layout of tch1 with tabs works fine. Do you think it's possible to implement a similar solution with tabs for the thesauri > hierarchy20?

Yes it is possible to change the design of the thesaurus, but this change requires consensus, the thesaurus is a common section used in all Dédalo installations, so to implement this change we need the agreement of others.

Right, the layout do not re-scale with more than 2 rows, now is fixed in ontology version >

Update your ontology and say me if all works. Thanks for report it.

Adding an image here is very easy, drag it to the position of the text you want and the image will be loaded and the markdown code will be created automatically...

To show the relations of the record in a new tab

For me, first option no make sense, it will need to change the portals to get information for other component... and mix with his data... I think that is not a good idea.

Second option, well, as in other sections, the relationships are at the bottom of the layout, it is possible to move them, but I think that where they are now is a good place, as they are always visible no matter which tab you choose. If the relations goes to a tab, you will not see until you select that tab...

Unless you fix that info for every tab like autroship is fixed in tch1

Both tchi1 and tch1 has the same solution for Authorship (only change the name of the component)... and Relations in tchi1 use same solution, you can change the tabs and always you will see the Relations fields...

I agree with Manuel. I think the tabbed organization of tch1 makes more sense than the current thesaurus. Especially because the information of some components scrolls down too much. I think it is important to be able to view some content at the same time without having to scroll so much.

Note: ontology updates are only available for the new ontology model in versions >= v6.4, if you are using dédalo version < v6.4 update your code before. Old ontology model compatible with v5 is totally obsolete, as we announce here, here and here and it's freeze, all updates are published only with the new model.
