Hello all,
We would like to use authorship with roles, and we have a question here before we start.
How have you implemented these roles? In semantic thesauri we have 3 different thesauri:

  • Relationships,
  • Professions
  • Posts

We are considering either opening a new thesaurus for authorship roles or inserting these specific roles in the thesaurus about "posts, trades," but we hesitate about this as it does not seem to be the best solution (it seems we are merging 2 different concepts here). How have you used it? Have you created a new thesaurus for this kind of role for your specific projects? What solution do you think is best?

Thank you in advance.

P.S. Merry Christmas and Happy new Dédalo year ;-)

In our case, we have three different thesauri:

  • User roles
  • Work / Job roles
  • Authority / Position roles
For authorship seems clear to us that the first one is the only one useful. It's a kind of internal role for describing different kinds of contributions when editing (author, cataloguing, translator...), but we also use it for the publications section, where the other people field (rsc205) needs a similar solution (editor, coordinator, translator....). It seems similar to Authority / Position roles, but we use this one to describe political roles.
