elena In numismatic objects, there are now separate fields "context of find" and "category of find," which come from the new thesauri and in findspots, can only be indexed in just one field. Couldn't these fields ([tchicategory, [tchicontext1 and also depositiontype) be better placed and separated on the find's record? @rca @Ruth @Manuel Gozalbes @Maria Alc @Alex @Alberto Contreras @PaCo
Alex Hi! I have not a criteria to it... but, for me, seems that make sense separate the Site context, Site Category and Deposition type into different fields, but I'm not sure... Any other comment? Best
Manuel Gozalbes I apologize for the delay in replying. I believe the approach is correct in the case of “context” and “category”. I’m not entirely sure I’ve understood it fully, but I’m not convinced that deposition type is a useful field in tchi1. Deposition type is a descriptor applied to objects like coins, and I believe it is not relevant or applicable to the contents of tchi1.
elena Hello, I think we are talking about two different things but we have named them the same way in English; Deposition type (depositiontype1): is a list. It is used in Numismatic object to describe if the coin find is isolated, casual, etc. (en español, tipo de depósito) Deposition type (depositiontype1): is part of the thesauros. It is used to describe the type of the archaeological context, manly and very important to categorize the stratigraphical units (primary, secondary, unknown). (En español, tipo de contexto) Maybe we need to give them diferent names in English.
