Hi Graham
Ok, I will explain the process to create a local TLD, it is an important step.
Define a TLD for your institution. I recommend using something unique that incorporates your institution's name and discipline. For instance, if your Dédalo installation will exclusively use the numisdata ontology, you can include it in the TLD.
- numisdatauves (numisdata for the Universitat of Valencia in Spain)
- numisdataocc (numisdata for the Online Celtic Coinage)
- etc.
or more generic if you want to use Dédalo in general Cultural Heritage management (tangible, intangible, numismatic, etc.):
- mupreva (Museu de Prehistòria de Valencia)
- mdcat (Memorial Democratic de Catalunya)
- etc.
Don't use generic names as: coin, object, numismatic, or similar things, and look the reserved TLD's for common thesaurus.
2 Login as «root» user into Dédalo.
3 Go to the «Ontologies main»

4 Create new one, as any other section in Dédalo.

5 Fill the fields in this way.

then, press the create button.

6 Logout, and login as «root» user. Login will include the new ontology into Dédalo.
7 Go to Ontology->Instaces->Ohers and you will see your ontology name into the menu.

8 Create the main node of the ontology as any other section, pressing the new button.
9 Edit the node, and, important, include the your TLD.

This node must be a child of another node to be visible in the ontology tree. To use it in the diffusion process, you must link your new node to the parent node. For instance, if you want to include the dd1190 node (the root node of the diffusion tree), you will can move it to the appropriate position in the tree.

10 Done!
If you navigate to the Ontology tree, you'll find your node positioned behind the primary diffusion node. You can freely move and modify it, and even create additional nodes beneath this node. This allows you to establish a new branch within the ontology by creating a child node of this node and subsequently moving it outside the main scope. For instance, you can expand the Coins section within the Catalogue menu by doing so.
I hope is clear, if not, ask to me, and we can meet if you need... 😉
