Search within Time Machine
As the project grows it becomes more important so have the availability to filter and search within TIME MACHINE to locate records that have been deleted and eventually you want to review or recover.

Hi Alex! I'll try to explain in English but if you want I can be more especific in a meeting...
As you know, we have lots of numismatics types in our installation and they keep growing and growing.
Most of times, in the same hierarchic section, you can find more than 3000 types. So, when you tried to organize this types just using the little number tool, it cames very hard. I doesn't update friendly as you have to open all the brunches (clicking on view more) to find the type that should be in the position, lets say 395, and it is in the 2500. If you dont open all the branches you cannot do the organization. And the list can be too long to administrate.
And, when you finally open all the section list, the changes are not inmediatly updated. Normally, it changes another type to another position wherever you mean to or not, I dont know why this happens. This its too hard, as you have to do it one by one, and reorganizating things and it gets a lot of time too. We have being doing this for months and we haven't finished yet.
So, if you can imagine a way to do it easier, more automatized, would be perfect. Lets say, for example, that in the register we could arrange the organization of the position of the relation. Or even better, we could choose by fields as number or key the organization. It would make it so much easy.

So I guess that what I am trying to say is that the tools for organizing the hierarchy could be improved with some automatizing ways of puting the types in order.

Could you explain exactly what you want to duplicate, because in most sections it is not clear what the difference is between duplicating without relations and creating new empty, do you want to duplicate only literals like text or data fields, or do you want to duplicate as an empty record?

So, do you want duplicate all information except children, parent, related type... when you say duplicate without relations, you will remove all other links as material, technique, mint, design, legends, etc, for Dédalo model all those fields are relations in the same way than children or parent or related type.

Duplicate only parts is not available right now, too many combinations, sometimes you will want duplicate only literals, sometimes you will want duplicate only a field, sometimes other fields, sometimes xxx (put here any other combination), we can think in a way to configure duplicate feature with a configuration, but it will required time to be configured, and errors in the configuration will required time to fix the duplicate action, for. ex: duplicate a part that you don't want will requiere fix it manually, or delete duplicate record and configure correctly and duplicate again. And sometimes remove specific fields could be more faster than change the duplicate configuration... in your case with maximum of 3 click the duplicate will be ok.

Does anyone have any option for this? Do you want to make a panel to configure the duplicate action before applying it (I think it could be annoying...)?

In some Memory meetings we have discussed to treat Entities as Persons under study, so they can be indexed. It will be needed a overal rethinking of the record of Entities as there will be fields that right now are located on the onomastic thesaurus that have to be included on the entities record (or viceversa). The main goal, if I undestood correctly, is to eliminate onomastic thesaurus from the thematic thesaurus (Some terms will be located in persons under study others in Entities)

Yes, it's, the Onomastic thesaurus are built with people and entities, therefore it make sense remove it and use the sections with more detail, with more specific fields and definitions than thesaurus has, but it's a huge change and has a lots of implications, for example the hierarchy for people is not clear how you can create it in the same way than onomastic does, and maybe, maybe, we need to think in a mix thesaurus (a thesaurus of thesaurus), the onomastic could be the group the people and entities by concepts that are not people or entities as, professions or ethnicity or ...

So, Yes, onomastic thesaurus will tend to be replaced by people and entities sections, but it will be a process not a fact, the change must be made step by step.

When importing images it's useful to set the 'title' and 'photo caption' in different languages. Now is not possible to translate in advance because languages are not available there. Is it posible to activate the tools for that fields for the import tool?

When we use maps, it could be useful to put a geolocation from an address, not only the latitude/longitude. Or find an easy way to convert from the address to latitude/longitude.

Yes!, great idea... but as you say:

Eulàlia Mesalles maybe there is an internacional service that can be "asked" to return this info in our maps when needed.

The main problem here is locate an institutional entity to provide the service, some regions or states has a API to get this kind of information, and it could be possible to get this kind of data for them, but if we need to create a specific connection for every region, it will be huge work... so, the idea is right and it could be useful, but we need a data provided before implement it.

Note: google and others private provides requieres a account and paid for X calls to his API, so, for us, this kind of services are not valid.
